- Cyclone Philippines RP1000y
- Abstract
- This layer provides the 1000 year return period 1-min mean wind speed measured in m/s for typhoon-induced winds. This dataset was derived from using IBTRACS data for Philippines and calibrating against historic catalogues and papers. Outputted at 1km resolution. A 5000 year stochastic catalogue of tropical cyclones was run using the software TCRM using a Holland wind field calibrated for past events from 1900 onwards. It should be noted that many different models are possible as part of the modelling process and this represents the best fitted regional model. This should only be used for indicative purposes.
